NAF Investigates Alleged Civilian Casualties in Kaduna Airstrike

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has launched an investigation into claims of civilian casualties following an airstrike in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The airstrike, according to NAF, was aimed at notorious terrorist hideouts in the region.Reacting to the allegations, NAF Deputy Director of Public Relations and Information, Group Captain Kabiru Ali, emphasized that the operation was based on credible intelligence and confirmed surveillance of the target area.Ali explained that the targeted location had been a known terrorist enclave for over two years, and the airstrike was expected to significantly reduce banditry, kidnapping, and other criminal activities in Kaduna State and its surrounding areas.Despite the claims of civilian casualties, Ali assured the public that the NAF is taking the matter seriously. “Our primary focus is always to achieve the operational objective without collateral damage,” he stated. He added that an investigation is underway to determine the accuracy of the allegations, promising that the findings would be made public once the probe is concluded. “The Nigerian Air Force is committed to ensuring the safety and security of the populace while upholding accountability in all its operations,” Ali concluded.Recall that ISSS News earlier reported that Ali in a statement said NAF), as part of Operation Whirl Punch (OPWP), successfully destroyed a logistics base used by terrorists in Yadi Forest, located in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
