Man Found Dead on Railway Tracks in Lagos2 Confirmed Dead In Catering School Gas Explosion

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has confirmed the discovery of a lifeless body on the Ikeja railway tracks in the Agege area of Lagos. According to officials, the man was reportedly hit by a moving train in the early hours of Monday.

Nosa Okunbor, the head of LASEMA’s public affairs unit, shared that the body was found by LASEMA’s Eagle Response Team shortly after they arrived at the scene.

“On arrival of the Eagle Response Team at the incident scene by 0902hrs, LRT discovered the body of an adult male laying dead on the railway track,” Okunbor stated.

Further investigations indicated that the man had been struck by a moving train earlier that morning. “Unfortunately, an unidentified adult male lost his life to the incident. The Agency’s response team recovered the body from the railway tracks,” Okunbor added.

The body has since been handed over to the State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit (SEHMU) and was transferred to the morgue for further processing.

The response to the incident involved multiple agencies, including the LASEMA Response Team, Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC), and the Lagos Neighborhood Safety Corps (LNSC), working together to handle the situation.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragic accident.
