Bouncer Arrested for Allegedly Stabbing Man to Death In Lagos

A bouncer, identified only as Mr. Kingsley, has been taken into custody by the Lagos State Police Command following the alleged fatal stabbing of a man outside a nightclub on Ago Palace Way, Lagos.

The incident reportedly occurred in the early hours of Monday.

Lagos State Police Command spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest in a statement released on Wednesday. He detailed that the altercation happened around 3:30 a.m., escalating outside the nightclub’s car park and resulting in the stabbing of the yet-to-be-identified victim, believed to be a hoodlum.

The nightclub’s management notified the Ago-Okota Police Division later on Monday, prompting a swift response. The victim was rushed to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) in Idi-Araba, Mushin. Despite efforts by medical staff, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

SP Hundeyin stated that detectives from the Ago-Okota Division visited both the scene and the hospital to gather evidence. “The body has since been transferred to the Mainland General Hospital morgue in Yaba, where an autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death,” he said.

Investigations are ongoing as the police seek to uncover the full details of the altercation that led to the fatal stabbing.
