Army Arrests Four Suspected Criminals, Recovers Arms in Delta

Troops from the 63 Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Delta State have arrested four suspected criminals and recovered arms and ammunition during a routine patrol in Asaba, the state capital.

The suspects, who were operating in a tricycle, were apprehended at Nwawolo Market, located behind the Asaba Specialist Hospital.

Major Emmanuel Onoja, the Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, confirmed the arrests and the recovery of the weapons. He detailed the items seized from the suspects, which included an AK-47 rifle, one round of 9mm ammunition, two cartridges, and one magazine. Other items recovered were a crowbar, a battle axe, mobile phones, and a wallet containing $19 and N30,650, all found inside the tricycle, commonly referred to as ‘Keke NAPEP’.

The suspects have been taken into custody for further interrogation as the investigation continues. The Army remains committed to maintaining security and combating criminal activities in the region.
