The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 19-year-old girl, Fatimo Agboke, for allegedly stabbing her 20-year-old neighbour, Farul Azeez, to death during an altercation in the Ijegun area of Lagos.
The tragic incident occurred on September 9, 2024, at around 9:20 pm. According to reports, Azeez and Agboke got into an argument that escalated into a physical fight. During the scuffle, Agboke allegedly stabbed Azeez in the neck with a broken bottle, causing grievous injuries.
The State’s Police Command spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident, stating that the case was reported at the Isheri-Oshun Division at about 10:00 pm. “The complainant received a call from his neighbour that his son, Farul Azeez, had an argument with Fatimo Agboke, which resulted in a fight. In the course of the fight, Azeez was stabbed with a broken bottle on his neck, leading to severe injury,” Hundeyin said.
He further explained that while the victim was being rushed to the hospital for medical treatment, he succumbed to his injuries. Upon receiving the report, detectives from the division arrived at the scene and found Azeez’s lifeless body lying in a pool of blood, with a deep cut on his neck.
The body has been deposited at the Mainland General Hospital Mortuary in Yaba for an autopsy. Meanwhile, Agboke has been arrested and is currently in police custody, as investigations into the incident continue.
