Ukraine has imposed a ban on the use of Telegram by government, military, and security officials, citing serious “threats” to national security linked to the app.
The move comes in response to growing concerns over the platform, which was founded by Russian-born Pavel Durov.
In a statement released on Facebook, Ukraine’s National Security and Defence Council announced the decision, emphasizing that it applied to government agencies, military units, and critical infrastructure facilities.
The council highlighted the urgency of the matter, describing it as a critical issue of national security.
