The Kaduna State Police Command has successfully rescued two kidnapped victims and recovered 283 rustled cows and 20 sheep.
In a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, five suspects were arrested during the operation. According to the statement, on October 31, 2024, operatives from the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, led by SP Sani Ibrahim Zuntu, acted on credible intelligence that led them to a remote location in Gora Village, where the suspects were apprehended, and the stolen livestock recovered.
The suspects were identified as Danjuma Alhaji Nguna (25), Saleh Shehu (35), Isiya Abdullahi (35), Abubakar Isiya (13), and Aminu Abdullahi, also known as “Kano” (13). The statement confirmed that the suspects will face court proceedings following the completion of preliminary investigations.
In a separate operation, officers from the Ikara Division responded to reports of suspected bandit activity near Kauyen Magaji Auchan Village. Upon arrival, the police engaged the bandits in a gunfight, forcing them to flee. Two kidnapped victims, Ibrahim Abdullahi and Hafsat Yusuf, were rescued, taken to a hospital for medical evaluation, and later reunited with their families.
The Command reiterated its commitment to tackling kidnapping and cattle rustling in the state.
